Bolds Latest acquisitions 
Newbold are proud to unveil the latest acquisitions to their playing front.
Gavin Webster, who has played for Rotherham, joins Newbold from Cambridge University.
He said: "Playing rugby at that level was a full time job, it gives you very little opportunity to fulfill ambitions in a working enviroment and rugby although played in a serious way, was also supposed to be a social and enjoyable pastime. "Playing at Newbold will enable me to still play at a reasonable level and allow me the time to pursue different avenues which you will no doubt read about in the future." Along with Gavin, also from Cambridge University, is Stuart Eru. Stuart was last year's Captain at Cambridge and as a 19 stone, mobile, verstaile No. 8 is a very welcome addition to Newbold's ranks. Fresh off the plane from New Zealand is Satooga Stowers. He is a class act looking to sample some of our English delights. Satooga, better known as Tana, is looking to impress with his open style of rugby. He is a member of Aukland's current under 21s and is tipped for a bright future. All three players will be on show on Saturday when Newbold travel the short distance to Nuneaton Old Eds ground in a rearranged Midlands West 2 league game. All supporters will be most welcome in what is sure to be a difficult and entertaining game. Last, but not least, hooker Adam Bond - who started his career with Rugby Lions - joins from Broadstreet, having heard good things about Newbold being a club going forward. |
