Newbold found it hard going but ground out a good win in the end. Adam Hilliard, Tom Harris and George Noel scrummaged well against a monster front row from Leams.     Slightly more clinical than the last couple of weeks, Newbold opened up with a try from Dan O’Brien who opened the defence with a show-and-go.  Big Ben Thompson crashed over from 5 yards, and Edgy scuttled over for one like his father Mark did (many many) years before him.   Dan Lenton opened his account for the season after some good straight running, and Dave Whyment flew down the wing from 30 yards after breaking the first up tackle.  Danno put over 4 out of 5 to boost the league points difference.
