Nuneaton  U17’s   7      Newbold U17’s    14

 

In gale force conditions, depleted Newbold secured one of their best ever results, coming from behind to win at Nuneaton.   Nuns scored after a missed tackle in midfield early in the game, and converted for 7.  Newbold’s forwards battled like heroes before man of the match Paddy Anderson powered over the line, Danno converting into the wind.  Looking as though it would finish evens, Dan O’Brien broke blind, stepped inside and round behind the posts, finishing with the most inelegant swallow dive you’ve ever seen.   He duly converted to seal a win that keeps Newbold hot on the tail of the league leaders.  Tough one again this Sunday – Stratford at home, 11am KO.
