Spartans U17's 7 Newbold U17's 31

Newbold found it difficult to get going on a gluepot pitch. Spartans were pleased to have some lads return from injury and put up a really decent battle. A good scrum and an excellent lineout tested Newbold. However Newbold's, superior all round game secured 2 tries for Isaac Spencer, and one each for Peter Bailey, Jordi Bunn and Alfie Such, Dan O'Brien converting three. A crazy break away from Spartans earned them a seven-pointer despite a great defensive effort from Alfie. One to forget for Newbold - but some lessons were learnt for the 'biggy' on Sunday against Broadstreet. Newbold haven't played any of the better sides in the league in the last few weeks, and will need to step up if they are to turn over Broadstreet.
