LEAMINGTON III 12 V NEWBOLD VETS 31
Bold Vets unbeaten start to their Warwickshire 3 league campaign continued unabated at Leamington despite an early setback when going 5 points down literally from the first kick-off. After stern words, the visitors reply was swift. Bold Veterans soon composed themselves and gradually wore down the opposition with controlled set pieces and some sublime phases of swift handling from their dangerous back line.
Half time 5 - 17
Despite losing the services of Lee Dicey to a calf strain after he had marshalled his backs quite effortlessly on his first attempted full game comeback at fly-half, the momentum continued with the hard working Bold forwards providing a steady stream of good quality ball. Captain Snowman asked for the first score after the break, his troops duly obliged creating the best try of the day and the game was all but won with the conversion sailing over. The home side never gave up and deservedly pulled a try back towards the end after the visitors had added a further score. Bold tries were singles from Gasman, Stick and Bish with the ever present Lloyd contributing 2 typical back row poachers efforts. Wayne added three conversions to complete the scoring.
With several changes of personnel from the previous weeks line up, Bold Vets showed the strength in depth of their close knit squad and can be extremely proud of the way they convincingly outplayed their close rivals who were previously unbeaten in the league prior to this encounter.
