LEICESTER FOREST 3RD 10 V NEWBOLD VETS 61
Bold Vets travelled to Leicester with a large squad of 22 players for a friendly fixture against old rivals. Previous fixtures have been close affairs with both sides claiming close victories. However, on another glorious October saturday afternoon, the visitors from Parkfield Road were far too strong on this occasion and literally blew the opposition away.
The damage was done in the first quarter when the rampaging Bold starting fifteen tore into their opponents and scored 4 quick unanswered tries manufactured from excellent handling and support play. Scores came at regular intervals thereafter, with the home side managing two of their own as just reward for their valiant efforts.
Bold tries were scored by Andy Holloway, Paul Rogers and Kev Lee with Rich Wilson, James Brainwood and Damo Carroll all weighing in with two each. Eight of the nine tries were converted to complete the scoreline.
Bold Vets will be in confident mood for their first home league match of the season this Saturday against Harbury 2nds and will be hoping to continue with their impressive form.
